Local business owners, marketers and community members will have a chance to roll up their sleeves for a morning of volunteer work in Levittown next week.
Marketing Agency Near You (MANY) is hosting its next MANY Hands United for Impact volunteer day Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to noon at the new United Way of Bucks County HELP Center at 2901 Edgely Road.
The Levittown-based marketing agency's quarterly service initiative brings together clients, partners, friends and neighbors for hands-on projects supporting United Way's work across Bucks County.
Past events have included sorting and packing donated goods, and most recently, helping build out United Way's new Levittown space by assembling clothing racks, carts, lockers, tables and standing desks.
"Community work is not always glamorous. It's boxes, bolts and instruction manuals — but it's also people showing up for their neighbors," said Dan Jones, Founder of Marketing Agency Near You. "Every volunteer day builds on the last one. We're excited to keep that momentum going at the new HELP Center."
The new HELP Center is designed to make it easier for Bucks County residents to access needed resources and services.
“Our new HELP Center is built around a simple idea: making it easier for people to get what they need, when they need it. Volunteers like the MANY team help make that possible for the families we serve every day. We’re grateful to have partners who are willing to roll up their sleeves and be part of this work,” said Marissa Christie, President and CEO at United Way of Bucks County.
Volunteers who register for the September event can expect a well-organized, low-pressure few hours of service. Lockers will be available for personal items, and coffee, water and snacks will be provided throughout the morning. Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes, and to complete a waiver in order to participate.
The event is part of MANY Gives Back, the agency's ongoing community service initiative. MANY Hands United for Impact has become a quarterly tradition, building on earlier volunteer efforts with United Way's Bristol HELP Center.
